The service is staffed by registered nurses who will assess your health needs, and give information and advice to help you decide on the best level of care.

GAMBLING

New Zealand Gambling Helpline is a national freephone support service for people with gambling problems. Their web site also has useful self help resources. THE HELP LINE NUMBER IS 0800 654 655.

EATING DISORDERS

Eating Disorders Association NZ (EDANZ) EDANZ is an incorporated society which provides support and education for parents and caregivers of people with eating disorders. www.ed.org.nz

DEPRESSION

National Depression Helpline FREEPHONE: 0800 111 757 Provides support from 8am to midnight, 365 days a year. Callers can talk to a trained counsellor who can discuss their situation and offer information, and if necessary, advice on local services. Depression Awareness: This web site features John Kirwan and has some excellent self help resources and tips for helping others who might be suffering from depression. It includes an interactive Journal tool.

Community Alcohol and Drug (CADS)

Community Alcohol and Drug Services, Auckland (CADS) offer a range of free services to anybody in the Auckland region wanting to solve an alcohol or drug related question, issue or problem, or are concerned about or affected by someone else’s use.

CITIZENS ADVICE BUREAU

Citizens Advice Bureau can provide information to assist with a wide range of issues. Their trained volunteers will discuss options with and provide contact numbers for any services or organisations that will be able to help further.
