Supervision
Clinical Supervision Services
I have provided supervision support for practitioners since 2001. I understand the project of “supervision” as the co-creation of a reflective space to explore one’s own clinical practice, professional identity, and to move further towards the best practice one can offer those consulting us. It is also a place for personal support for practitioners who give so much to others.
Supervision can be a place of care and nurture for you the practitioner who, having given out and attended to others, can receive care and attention.
Experience and Training
In 2013 I completed a rigorous Post Graduate Certificate in Counselling Supervision at Waikato University. Prior to that I had participated in supervision training offered by NZAC over the years. I continue to evolve my understandings and skills through ongoing professional development in the area of clinical supervision.
My first experiences of providing supervision were in 2001. Since then I have supported many practitioners (counsellors, social workers and other professionals working with people in various forums) and those in training.
My studies have greatly deepened my understanding and practice of supervision. I strive to offer rich and insightful reflective space for us to collaborate together in reviewing and learning from your practice.
Further details about my supervision work can be found by clicking the “supervision” button. Under “Professional Articles” is a two-page account of some of what underpins my supervision work.
